Kitchy is cute, studios can be fun, and props can be adorable… but real people + honest emotions + beautiful, wonderful nature = terrific pictures, each and every time.
This might seem a little silly to post about on a Friday night (honestly, I feel pretty silly doing it), but I’m just too excited to not share: my new business cards came in recently and I’m hopelessly in love with them! Seriously, let’s set-up a fake meeting just so I can shake your hand and pass one of these beauties to you across the table. Pictures don’t quite do the tactility of the paper justice, they really must be held to be appreciated. Maybe I’m a bit over-excited.
Anyways, props where props are due before I share some shameless pictures of me new beauties.
Design was done by the stellar and cool Jess from IROCKSOWHAT, who also did my blog header unless you’re missing the similarity there.
Printing was by Print Pinball from Portland, OR. Their product is just so freaking cool, and exactly the aesthetic I was after. I have a sample pack if you’re interested in seeing their other product sizes, or just want to fondle some more papery goodness.
*sigh* Here they are!
For those who don’t know (and I’m sure there’s at least a couple out there), we are currently expecting family addition number two. ETA is this Sunday, June 3rd, which doesn’t leave me much time left to celebrate (once again) simply how beautiful my wife looks when she’s pregnant. She’s also such a trooper: still teaching her class of grade 2 kids until tomorrow, her last day on the job, and a couple weeks ago she let me drag her out west of the city to the Wagner Natural Area and put up with me as I marched her all around the area, posing here and there. This is just another of the many and more reasons I’m still in love with my wife. 🙂
Things are a little up-in-the-air around Casa del Merryfield these days…. we moved out of our home last weekend and into the basement of my very generous and patient sister-in-law and brother-in-law’s house (which isn’t just a cement floor and insulation stuffed between 2×4’s, it’s actually quite a posh basement as far as basements go). So, to have a little quiet time together, just the three of us, a couple weekends ago Lindsay, Finn and I snuck off to Transcend Coffee for a couple cups of the finest coffee that money can buy in Edmonton. I’m turning into a bit of a coffee snob, unfortunately. 🙂 Naturally I brought along my camera and tried my best to document our morning without letting Finn run amok too much. He’s busy and inquisitive, which is a great trait to have until you realize that he’s run behind the bar and is asking for a waffle or a cookie or a spoon or something. At least everyone in the cafe was in a good mood and seemed to find us more charming than clamourous, and I don’t think we disturbed everyone TOO much.
Finn decided part way through the morning that HE needed to take a few pictures too. These next couple are the results of his own artistic vision. 🙂
And now, back to our regularly scheduled photographer….
Hello everyone, and HAPPY VALENTINES DAY! I hope everyone had a great day, full of love and happiness, and hopefully something nice to make you smile happened.
I had a great day today, and I want to take some time to share it with everyone.
