On a beautiful, sunny day in October, the perfect fall day here in Edmonton, Megan & Josh got married. These two are the very definition of a couple who fill each others voids and button each others hard-to-reach buttons. Megan, possibly atypical for brides in general, was SUPER laid back and just happy to be getting married. Josh, on the other hand, really enjoyed all of the details and planning that went into their wedding. It’s super refreshing to see a groom who is really involved in wedding planning.
We started the day off meeting at the University of Alberta, outside of Convocation Hall, for some family and bridal party pictures. It was maybe just a teensy bit windy, but the nice thing about the U of A for portraits is that there is always another nook or sheltered space to find and hide in. Afterwards we jetted over to the Freemason’s Hall for both the wedding ceremony, and the reception. As I may have mentioned before, I love this venue for the character and uniqueness that it has, as well as the beautiful light that just streams into the reception hall.
The reception was full of personal details that Megan & Josh incorporated into the evening. One of my favorites was the giant 20-sided die that guests had to roll in order for the couple to kiss. The higher the number, the better the kiss! I think only one person rolled a twenty all night long, which got Megan a big dip and a kiss from Josh, and a big round of applause from the crowd! There was also a big coordinated bride & groom dance that was awesome to watch, and then we danced the night away!
Congrats Megan & Josh! Thanks so much for including me in your wedding day!
