And here is part II of Neilin & Faisal’s wedding! Part I is over here if you missed it!
We started the morning at the bride’s parents house, where Faisal met Neilin and picked her up for the day, following a small ceremony. It was my first look at the couple of the day, and they looked amazing (and amazingly relaxed too).
Then it was off to the Ismaili Centre in south Edmonton for the ceremony itself. I’ve never been lucky enough to be a part of an Ismaili wedding ceremony, but it was simple, beautiful, and very personal and intimate for the couple, and I loved every moment, even the most epic receiving line ever.
Finally, some quiet time for the wedding party, out taking pictures and generally listening to me. We went out to the Edmonton Research Park, right next to South Edmonton Common, which was almost completely empty of people on the weekend, so we had the run of the place. We hunted down some beautiful light and then let Faisal and especially Neilin’s beauty take over from there.
Then there was a quick break while everyone changed wardrobes for the evenings festivities. While Neilin had her hair and makeup completely re-done, Faisal was able to relax and fine-tune his speech for later that night.
And finally, the reception, which was held at The Mirage Banquet Hall. This part, I will present without further commentary, as there was so much joy, energy, laughter, and fun that I could pause and narrate each and every picture. Needless to say, it was an amazing time, one of the absolute highlights of my 2013 wedding season. More wedding receptions need to serve a good chai after dinner. Congrats to Neilin & Faisal on their wedding! Thank you so much for asking me to be a part of your amazing day!
