Luck happens in funny ways. People meet at parties that one nearly didn’t attend. Long-lost friends remain lost because someone forgot their passport on the counter and missed a flight. You discover that Elton John is throwing a spontaneous concert on Maui just when you happen to be on island (this totally happened to friends of mine). Or maybe you get an email five weeks before a wedding and are asked to shoot it on somewhat short notice, but all of your scheduling falls into place and everything works out splendidly.
That last one happened to me. Here’s the proof, and the story.
Rebecca and Jason were married at Eagle Rock Golf Course, outdoors in front of a lake and fountain, on possibly one of the most beautiful days of the year. Even the mosquitos cooperated, to a certain degree. We spent a full day together, from arriving at L Hair Studio in Sherwood park at 9AM to get ready with the Rebecca & the rest of the girls, taking a quick trip to Jason’s parent’s home to meet up with the guys, and then spending the rest of the day and night out at Eagle Rock. When I left around midnight the party was still going on. It was a long whirlwind of a day, but one so full of energy and love and family and laughter that it simply flew by. I am so pleased and honoured to have been a part of your wedding day. Congrats Rebecca & Jason!
Here’s some of my favourite memories from the day.
As far as stylish places to get ready on your wedding day, L Hair Studio really is pretty damn classy.
The guys, getting ready. It was a pretty relaxed and casual morning for them.
And finally, the ceremony at beautiful Eagle Rock Golf Course.
I don’t normally blog any large family or group shots, but I’m pretty proud of how this turned out.
Finally, a few portraits… a classy looking wedding party…
The guys certainly cleaned-up well.
And the ladies were lovely, of course.
And of course, the couple themselves, looking resplendant.
And a few details…
And finally, let’s get down to the party itself.
