When Sarah got in contact with me through Facebook looking for some portraits for her family for Christmas presents, I naturally asked “Where were you thinking of taking these pictures? What did you have in mind?” Now, most people will say somewhere natural and pretty, where the trees are green and the grass is nice and things look pretty. Sarah just said “Oh you’re the professional, I’m sure you’ll know some cool places.” The immediate thing that popped in my head: downtown. Mix some urban into these pictures, some colour, some juxtaposition, some character. Plus, it was the beginning of November and it was a pretty bleak day. This set was crying for some downtown action.
