This post is more than a little late, but what’s a busy photographer/accountant to do?
I received an email the week before Mother’s Day. “I am looking at getting photos of me and my brothers and cousins done for mothers day and was wondering if you would be interested in shooting us?” Family pictures? Good weather? A good excuse to get out and shoot while my other life is kicking my butt? Plus, I happen to think that family pictures are a TERRIFIC gift idea for the parent who has everything and fully support kids going on their own to get this sort of thing done. Anyways, several emails and a couple phone calls later, we have a time and date set.
Now, at this point, I have no idea who I am meeting, which isn’t usually a problem, but there’s a bell ringing in my head for some reason. My spidey-sense is tingling. Would we have any chemistry? Dana was friendly on the phone, but what about the rest of the group? Do these people even want to be here? What if the weather sucks? What if the location sucks? I’ve never been shooting out in Ardrossan. What if… what if I suck?
Well, everything went off perfectly. Spidey-sense was telling me to expect an awesome good time, and that’s what I had. I really hope that the Mom’s receiving these pictures as presents enjoyed them as much as I did taking them! Thanks Dana & crew!
