After leaving 95% of what’s new out there for public consumption for a while now, I think it’s time for the (official) big announcement: WELCOME TO THE NEW IN THE MOMENT PHOTOGRAPHY! It’s been a long time in the works, fine tuning the little details, adding some new content, and making the existing content easier to find, explore, and share. I really hope you love all of the changes and how everything looks & works together. Speaking of which… let’s take a little tour so I can be self-indulgent and show off what’s new and what I’m excited about.
1. The new front page
This will be the most visible change, and the part that I possibly love the most. It’s consistent, it’s clean, it’s vibrant, it puts what’s most important to me right up front (the pictures, of course!), and I just think it looks pretty sweet all around. I need to send a huge thank you out to Jess Craig of IROCKSOWHAT for designing my new banner, and the great folks at Graph Paper Press for the new blog template, and help implementing and customizing it. Take a few moments and just scroll that front page gallery across, and enjoy some of the beautiful people I’ve been so lucky to work with.
2. New Image galleries
This is kind of a no-brainer, but I honestly had no galleries in my previous blog! It’s probably my biggest addition, being able to get a good look at my style and the images that catch my eye. It’s just so much easier to take a quick peek at the best of my images without having to troll through the blog for hours on end. Speaking of which….
3. A cleaner, better organized blog
… the blog is fresh and new too! Once you’ve taken a sip of the best I have to offer, some on into the blog for a bigger helping of goodness! A typical blog post will show a greater breadth of what you can expect out of your session or wedding. I have to admit: I personally LOVE photographing a full day wedding. It’s great to spend the whole day with the wedding party, to really see how the event unfolds, nervousness, then anticipation, then the bog moment, celebration, and the party afterwards! If that’s your kind of thing, the blog is definitely the place for you.
4. Actual information about me
So, I could spend some time telling you about me, like this is my dating profile or something. That would be exceptionally boring, but I could do it. Or I could tell you the important stuff: why I am a photographer. What it is that I focus on when taking pictures. The joy and excitement that I get out of being a photographer. Not only that, but I could tell you what you can expect when you hire me as a photographer. What the session is going to be like. What my style working with people is. I think these are the impotant things that people need to know about me.
The rest of that stuff? Long walks on the beach and my astrological sign? You’ll probably hear that anyways when we meet because I’m compulsively chatty.
5. A focus on being social and sharing
This isn’t necessarily a new thing, but I hope it’s more obvious than ever I hope: I want you to love and share my work with your friends and family! I want to meet new people and make new friends, in as many ways as possible. You can find me and get in contact with me so many different ways: I’m always on Facebook (both me personally, and as In the Moment Photography), I’m chatty on Twitter (I apologize for all the sports stuff in advance), I’m pinning stuff on Pinterest (and I hope you’ll pin my stuff too), you can find me chilling over on Wedding Wire, and then there’s the regular ways to get in contact with me: phone, text, email, and the good ol’ trusty contact form.
So, if you like what you see (and I sincerely hope that you do), please come and like my page over on Facebook! It’s the easiest way to stay up-to-date on what’s going on around here. Also, spread the word if you already like In the Moment Photography on Facebook, and want others to see it too! More than anything else, this is a word of mouth based business, and your help and love means so much. I want to reward all of my Fans by offering them something in return for their time and attention: a free photoshoot to a lucky fan. Details to come tomorrow – a Hump Day surprise!!
